Pledge of Allegiance and Public Education Hotline

Information Utah rules ask us to share with families.

Pledge of Allegiance

Scholar Academy teachers follow Utah Rule R277-475 on patriotic, civic and character education. At least once a year, students are taught that saying the Pledge of Allegiance is voluntary, that it is acceptable not to participate for religious or other reasons, and that students should respect both those who participate and those who don’t.

Public Education Hotline

Under Utah Board Rule R277-123, possible violations of education law or rule can be reported through the Public Education Hotline, managed by the Utah State Board of Education’s Internal Audit Department. Complaints may be referred back to the school. See our Hotline Complaint Policy for details.
